Women's Leadership Council

The mission of the Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) is to build a powerful network of women who support the work of Valley of the Sun United Way by giving, advocating, volunteering, and inspiring others to join us in creating lasting change in our community.

We will use our leadership, expertise and passion to support and promote programs that provide a platform for the success of children, youth and families in our community.

WLC members are encouraged and empowered to advocate for community change and to expand WLC’s leadership network by inviting their colleagues, friends and women in their community to join. Members will learn about key issues impacting the community, connect with key women business and community leaders to solve problems facing our community and receive recognition as a leader of change in Maricopa County.

Your Role in WLC:
•Be educated on issues in United Way’s key focus areas by attending WLC events  and learning more through WLC communications
•Be an ambassador for United Way to women in the community by attending events and inviting your network of friends and colleagues to get involved
•Be an advocate for United Way by engaging decision makers in the community in conversations around our work

To Join the WLC:
Women must give at least $1,000 annually designated to the work of United Way or one of our three focus areas: Ensuring Children and Youth Succeed, Ending Hunger and Homelessness, Increasing Financial Stability of Individuals and Families.
