Company Spotlight - Holsum Bakery, Bard Peripheral Vascular, Gilbert Public Schools
April 19, 2010
Holsum Bakery, Inc.
Holsum Bakery, Inc. raised a lot of dough in 2009, doubling their campaign from the previous year to over $51,000! The effort kicked off with the commitment of a generous corporate gift, setting the tone for the rest of the campaign. The first presentation was held with the management team, generating visible support from the top. The Campaign Manager at Holsum organized a dedicated group of Champions from departments throughout the company. The team took a first-hand tour of St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, a United Way-funded agency, and attended a campaign workshop so that they could personally share the impact of United Way with their peers. United Way meetings were scheduled at all hours of the day and night (hey, that’s when bread is baked!) to ensure every Associate in the Holsum family would hear the message and have an opportunity to give. Thank you, Holsum Bakery, for making a real difference in the lives of those in need throughout Maricopa County.
Bard Peripheral Vascular
Thank you to Bard Peripheral Vascular and its employees for their continued support of Valley of the Sun United Way. Employees at Bard surpassed their participation goals for the 2009 Campaign and raised more dollars than in 2008. Bard attributes its successful campaign to their hard working campaign team, which met weekly to brainstorm and determine how best to motivate employees. In addition to the campaign team, Bard has great employees that truly care about the community and love a good challenge. They also offered up incentives and challenges to help motivate employees, including gift cards, tickets to sporting events and team outings. All of their hard work paid off. Thank you Bard!
Gilbert Public Schools
Valley of the Sun United Way would thanks the teachers, staff and administration of Gilbert Public Schools (GPS) for running an outstanding 2009 United Way Campaign. Even during times of uncertainty for the future, GPS employees increased their 2009 pledged over last year’s amount. GPS employees continue to understand and appreciate the vital health and human service programs provided by Valley of the Sun United Way partner agencies - programs that fund emergency food boxes and dental clinics so empty stomachs and toothaches don’t distract from learning. Thank you, Gilbert Public Schools for your continued support!
