Homelessness Awareness Walk Provides Unified Voice

October 08, 2009

The Homelessness Awareness Walk will be held Friday, October 30, 2009. Participants are encouraged to gather outside the Herberger Theater in downtown Phoenix at 9:00 a.m. to walk to the State Capitol to build awareness of all those who experience homelessness every day. The first 400 walk participants will receive a free t-shirt.

Speakers at the Capitol will include Arizona State House Representative Chad Campbell and Jacki Taylor from the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness.

Join other concerned citizens in educating the public and policy-makers regarding the current status of homelessness in Maricopa County. Local service providers will have information booths at the Capitol. Participants will be able to learn about available services and social service agency needs for in-kind items and volunteers.

*Parking available at Wesley Bolin Plaza, 1700 W. Washington Street, Phoenix. Ride the DASH to Herberger Theater Center.
