Community Impact Manager (Homlessness)

Title:  Community Impact Manager (Homelessness)

Position Summary:  This position is responsible for Community Impact project management, including project planning, budget monitoring, contract management, convening, leading and managing collaborative partnerships within the Ending Hunger and Homelessness Community Objective.

Summary of Responsibilities: 

Project Management:
• Implements community initiative actions
o Assumes primary responsibility for Permanent Supportive Housing Initiative project management.
o Supports housing stability and formerly chronically homeless individuals by creating additional projects.
• Provides accurate reports and meets project deadline.
o Coordinates reporting of external partners and for internal purposes.
o Ensures all partners are appropriately using data systems.
• Manages assigned partners
o Manages portfolio of partners for reporting and technical assistance.
o Maintains familiarity with funded/contracted programs and all aspects of their interaction with VSUW.

Relationship Management:
• Supports key relationships to implement strategies toward the community objective.
o Manages relationships with subcontractors.
o Develops relationships with contacts.
• Builds strong collaborative relationships to facilitate partnership in the implementation of strategies:
o Builds relationships with community stakeholders to effectively implement the permanent supportive housing initiative.
o Builds relationships with providers and advocates addressing housing.
o Builds relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and complementary service providers to maximize program impact.
o Supports internal, cross-functional relationships to achieve VSUW balanced scorecard goals.
o Supports activities of Hunger and Homelessness Team as necessary.

Communication:
• Communicates ideas clearly and effectively.
o Serves as liaison to assigned agencies
o Serves on intradepartmental and interdepartmental teams
o Participates with community groups whose missions’ compliment that of VSUW and where such involvement enhances VSUW progress toward objectives.
• Effectively present information to team and external customers.
o Communicates Hunger and Homelessness Community Objective plan.
o Acts as subject matter expert in areas of housing and homelessness.
o Communicates within logic model structure

Budget Management:
• Assists in the collection and preparation of required budget information.
• Manages budget, account reconciliations and budget forecasting for internal and external use.
o Works within prescribed budget to manage programs and achieve objectives.

Analytical:
• Develops measurable solutions in partnership with internal and external resources.
o Works collaboratively to develop, monitor and respond to both outcome-focused and program quality metrics
• Works with partners to develop strong logic models for funded programs
o Provides technical assistance to support partner agencies throughout investment processes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Social Services, Nonprofit Management or closely related field. 
• Five years experience in Social Services, Nonprofit Management or related field.
o Equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities to do the job. 

Project Management:
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities, organize interpret and communicate data.
• Ability to manage the planning, organization, monitoring and control of all aspects of project collaboration with the partners in the community to achieve the project objectives
• Ability to collect, review, and interpret data for the purpose of program evaluation.
• Knowledgeable in relevant subject matter
• Advanced knowledge in data management including internal and external data and monitors contract compliance.

Relationship Management:
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Works with key relationships to address critical issues and research based solutions.
• Ability to build consensus and gain cooperation from our community partners.
• Ability to work as part of a team and support the goals of the organization.

Communication:
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret training instructions.
• Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, policies and training instructions.
• Strong verbal and written skills.

Budget Management:
• Knowledgeable of the budgeting process and interpreting financial statements.

Nonprofit Management:
• Is familiar with local, state and national government regulations for nonprofit organizations.
• Working knowledge of nonprofit financial concepts, terms and regulatory forms.
• mKnowledge of effective volunteer engagement including recruiting, retention and recognition strategies.

Analytical Skills:
• Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
• Familiar with logic model framework for program design and outcome measurement.

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft CRM
• Advanced knowledge of logic model framework for program design and outcome measurement.
• Ability to research and locate information from the internet
• Ability to learn and use new software and systems as required

Reporting to this position: 
• Community Impact Coordinator

Physical demands and work environment:
• Work is performed primarily in an office setting and while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and demonstrate manual dexterity. 
• During specific times of the year, the employee is required to visit a variety of direct service settings across the community.  Additional mobility is required during this activity. 
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.
